Jodo Shinshu, a Japanese Pure land tradition was introduced to Germany by Harry Pieper in Berlin in 1954 acting on the advice of the 24th patriarch Koshin Ohtani.
ShinDo temple was founded by Jotoku Thomas Moser in 1996 in the Southern German city of Bad Reichenhall.
